This 4,500-hectare national forest can offer wonderful walks in the shade of its vast avenues of trees! The forest was formerly a royal hunting domain and then used to produce wood for shipbuilding.
Today it's a managed woodland made up of oak and pine plantations. It has a Natura 2000 classification and is home to a wealth of fauna, including deer species and rare birds such as the woodcock, goshawk, middle-spotted woodpecker… and in autumn it's mushroom collecting time – not to be missed, they're what this forest is famous for!
